Use your EBT card and FMNP/WIC checks at the Catskill Farmers Market.
For 2025, SNAP/EBT transactions up to $50 are doubled via the FreshConnect Program! Which means, $50 from your EBT card = $100 to spend at the market — more details below.

SNAP & EBT

The Catskill Farmers Market accepts EBT card payments as a way to use SNAP benefits.

  • Please come to the Market Manager tent to purchase SNAP tokens with your EBT card — these tokens can be used for all SNAP-eligible goods purchase from any vendor at the market.

  • First of all, you can use any amount of your EBT balance at the market. We’ll double your EBT transaction up to an additional $50. Stop by the Market Manager tent!

    For transactions of $50 and below, the Market Manager will give you FreshConnect coupons worth the same amount as the transaction you made. Transactions over $50 will receive an extra $50 in coupons.


    For example: $25 from your EBT card = $50 to spend at the market, $50 = 100 to spend at the market, and $100 from your EBT card = $150 to spend at the market.

FMNP

The Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) is operated through New York State Dept. of Agriculture & Markets, and serves WIC (Women, Infants & Children) and Low-Income Seniors.

    3. Farms who participate in the FMNP Program will have signage clearly at their booths.

  • The WIC FMNP Program assists:

    • Women

    • Infants over 4 months old

    • Children 1 to 5 years of age

    The WIC Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) is associated with the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children, popularly known as WIC. Eligible WIC participants are issued FMNP coupons in addition to their regular WIC benefits. These coupons can be used to buy eligible foods from farmers, farmers' markets or roadside stands that have been approved by the state agency to accept FMNP coupons.

  • The Seniors FMNP Program is designed for:

    • Low-income seniors, generally defined as individuals who are at least 60 years old and who have household incomes of not more than 185% of the federal poverty income guidelines.

    The Seniors Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) is designed to:

    • Provide low-income seniors with access to locally grown fruits, vegetables, honey and herbs.

    • Increase the domestic consumption of agricultural commodities through farmers' markets, roadside stands, and community supported agricultural programs.

    • Aid in the development of new and additional farmers' markets, roadside stands, and community support agricultural programs.
